What is hydrocolloid?
Hydrocolloid was initially created as a medical dressing to treat wounds, featuring a gel layer containing pectin or gelatin and other substances that attract water and soak up fluids, including pus. JAMEELA Acne-Clear, on the other hand, is gelatin-free, making it a suitable choice for vegans. When the hydrocolloid attracts fluids or pus, the patch turns from clear to opaque white, indicating the removal of the pimple's contents. Learn more about hydrocolloid and its functioning here.
How to apply Acne-Clear Patch?
Acne-Clear Patch is a highly effective yet gentle acne patch, made of a transparent hydrocolloid adhesive that works by drawing out pus and shielding the skin.
To use it, begin by cleaning the blemish and the surrounding area thoroughly and drying it out. Next, place the Acne-Clear Patch directly over the pimple, and let it stay on until it turns opaque white, which usually takes around six hours. If any pus remains in the pimple after removing the patch, you may replace it with a new one. Acne-Clear Patch is safe to use during the day or overnight.
Which type of blemish is Acne-Clear Patch intended to treat?
Mighty Patch is most effective on pimples that have reached a head and contain white fluid or pus, as hydrocolloid tends to draw in water and fluids. In case the Mighty Patch did not turn opaque white after use, it could indicate that the pimple was not fully matured or may not be the appropriate kind of blemish for the patch.
For cystic acne, it's best to seek professional treatment from a doctor or dermatologist.
Is there a maximum duration for which I can leave the patch on my skin?
If the patch has been on for more than six hours and has not absorbed any fluids, there are a few possible explanations:
- The pimple may not have any fluids yet, or it may not be the appropriate kind of pimple for the patch.
- The fluid may be deep within the pore, and the patch may require 1-3 days to draw it out to the surface and then remove it.
- The patch may need easier access to the fluids. Some customers have found that popping or pricking the pimple can help release the fluid and allow the patch to absorb it faster.
We suggest using the patch for 6-8 hours or until it has absorbed the pus, whichever comes first. If there has been no absorption after this period, refer to the above reasons and solutions. Do let us know if you have any other questions!
